Job Description
To provide administrative support to the Employee Relations team by maintaining personnel files, coordinating records retention, providing general correspondence related to policies and procedures, and conducting training related to these functions.

Considerable administrative or clerical experience. Working knowledge of human resources practices and principles. Knowledge of laws impacting employee relations to include FLSA, FMLA, ADA & EEO. Skill in the use of word processing, database, and spreadsheet software. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies. Demonstrated ability to analyze data and statistics, draw sound conclusions and develop recommendations. Demonstrated ability to provide sound consultative services to managers and employees. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to assist in the development and delivery of training.

Progressively responsible experience as an administrative aide, administrative coordinator, or human resources specialist in the areas of employee relations and training and development.

Working knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia human resources policies and procedures. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, Banner, and PeopleAdmin. PHR certification. Some Higher education experience. Graduation from a college or university with major coursework in human resources or related field; equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted.
