Job Description
New River Community College (NRCC) is a comprehensive community college located in the New River Valley of Virginia. Install, maintain, support and program audio/visual equipment for electronic classrooms, auditoriums, and boardrooms. Assist in the management, implementation, installation, and maintenance of all equipment associated with a sophisticated broadcast quality television system, including the educational cable television channel, the campus-wide television system, college classrooms and production studio. Installation of cabling associated with but not limited to audio/visual analog and digital classrooms, broadcast, etc. Assist with installation of computers, networking devices, both hardware and software. Assist in the creation and delivery of broadcast quality multimedia programming for various distribution avenues. Assist with live audio/video/light production of events held on campus. Asset and inventory management. Supervise part-time and student workers. Assist with training of all Audio/Visual equipment used in all the colleges’ facilities. Assist the Manager in monitoring department workflow, resource commitments, and supply status. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Media Services.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Extensive experience with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer and audio/visual equipment, as well as equipment associated with electronic classrooms. The ability to understand, operate and train others on the use of equipment for digital and analog systems such as digital multimeter, soldering devices, video waveform monitor, video vector scope, RF signal strength meter, power meter, external DC power supply and video pattern generator. Ability to effectively train faculty/staff on the use of all a/v assets. Ability to use computer technology to do research and maintain equipment inventory information. Strong understanding of Windows and Mac OS. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in electronics, technology, or related field. Experience working with and deploying audio visual systems in higher education settings. Experience in custom electronic assembly and system integration. Extensive hands-on knowledge of the major audio, video, control and display product lines. Demonstrated experience with Crestron and Extron platforms. Computer and/or Crestron programming background. Working knowledge of Crestron Toolbox, SIMPL, and VT Pro E. Crestron CTI/MCP certification. AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I certification. Knowledge of AutoCAD. Ability to install computer hardware and software. Knowledge of electric and building codes. Good technical writing and documentation skills. Experience working with web developers to deliver responsive A/V solutions. Experience in live audio/video/lighting production. Knowledge of videoconference equipment/software and multimedia/television production facilities.
