Montgomery County has an opening for Director of Finance. Qualified candidates will possess extensive knowledge of governmental finance operations including central accounting operations, debt management, payroll, financial analysis, risk management and purchasing. In addition to financial services for the County, the department provides financial services and acts as fiscal agent to six other affiliate organizations and is responsible for annual financial statements, County audit, Schools and all other fiscal agent accounts. Reporting to the Assistant County Administrator, essential duties including but not limited to: provides financial advice and consultation to County Administration and County Departments, Constitutional Offices, and affiliate agencies; develops, recommends and administers financial policies and procedures including financial reports for grants management; provide financial guidance regarding compensation/benefits; serves as liaison to School personal regarding financial reporting and budgeting; advises and assists Treasurer and Commissioner of Revenue on financial and technical issues; organizes and prepares reports and recommendations for County Administration and Board of Supervisors; conducts and oversees financial impact analysis; oversee purchasing operations, risk management/insurance, and similar duties of equivalent responsibility.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or directly related field required, plus minimum of 10 years experience in municipal finance/financial management required. Successful candidate must have demonstrated ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with officials, peers/associates, and related agencies.
