Manufacturing Technician – Entry Level

Objective
- Perform operations in specific cells – including the adjusting and cleaning of equipment.
- Discovering opportunities to contribute to the success of Metalsa in Roanoke
- Ensure the shipment of high-quality rails in accordance with the Metalsa in Roanoke product schedule to exceed customer expectations.
Essential Functions

Other essential functions of the position include the following:
3. Ability to read and use a scale, tape measure etc.
4. All Technicians must have ability to interact with computers, PLC’s and computer based programs that are used to run most machines in the facility.
5. All Technicians must be capable of performing machine set-ups both logically and mechanically. This would include items such as punch and die changes, plasma cutter and welder consumable changes and machine parameter adjustments. In addition, the ability to learn and perform TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Autonomous Maintenance activities defined for each cell which include, amongst others, inspections, cleaning, lubing, machine adjustments, operating consumables change, etc.
6. All technicians are responsible for housekeeping, 5s, quality measures, minor adjustments, continuous improvement ideas, and safety checks in the facility.
Academic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Certifications Forklift Certification (Preferred)
Experience
- Basic computer knowledge (Required)
- 1-3 years of relevant experience (Required); 3-5 years of relevant experience in an automated manufacturing facility (Preferred)
