Security Technician -- Full Time, Part Time, and Per Diem Positions Available!
The Security Technician is responsible for the following job duties:
- Safely manages the physically acting out patient and is knowledgeable of safe restraint techniques.
- Monitors patient one-to-one when required.
- Uses effective communication, intervention, problem solving, and crisis management skills.
- Performs routine safety measures to maintain safe/therapeutic environment.
- Reports pertinent observations, changes, and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person (physician, manager, supervisor, etc.) Records these observations, changes and reactions accurately.
- Knowledgeable of the importance of the patient safety assessment.
- As required, and under the supervision of the RN, communicates with and serves as a liaison between patient’s family and physician.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and implements policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing departments.
- Frequently makes rounds and performs errands when requested.
- Demonstrates cost conscious use of supplies; maintains equipment in a clean and safe manner
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Security Technician Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in psychiatric and/or security field preferred.
- Ability to communicate with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Provides assistance, instruction, and explanation to patient and/or significant other.
- Collect data and provide input to nursing.
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider card.
