A highly skilled and dedicated Infection Prevention and Risk Management Nurse on Kendal at Lexington's health services team. This critical role combines expertise in infection control, risk management, organizational education, and resident assessment to ensure the highest standards of health and safety for both residents and staff. The ideal candidate is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a passion for promoting a safe, healthy, and educated community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Infection Prevention: Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of infection prevention and control protocols. Stay abreast of the latest in infectious disease trends, prevention techniques, and regulatory requirements. Serve as the facility's primary liaison to the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN), ensuring accurate and timely reporting of infection data.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to residents and staff related to healthcare services. Develop and implement strategies to minimize risk exposure and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Organizational Education: Design and conduct training programs for staff on infection control practices, risk management strategies, and other relevant healthcare topics. Ensure all staff are up-to-date with current best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Resident Assessments: Perform comprehensive assessments for new residents entering independent living, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the community. Collaborate with healthcare and administrative teams to develop personalized care plans.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing resident care, safety, and satisfaction. Use data and feedback to inform and adjust practices and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) and/or experience in infection prevention and control is highly desirable.
  • Experience with NHSN reporting and a strong understanding of its requirements.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and practices in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to design and deliver effective training and educational programs.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
