MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, and/or Student Personnel Services; five years of experience working professionally in a student activities office on a two or four year campus with one year of experience in accounting and budget development and administration preferably in a post-secondary education environment; one year of experience in a supervisory capacity and excellent organizational and communication skills; enthusiasm and innovation in providing leadership training to the student body and serving as a liaison with administration and student leaders in conveying college policies and procedures as it relates to the College’s mission, goals and objectives required.
Experience in financial reports, via computerized fund accounting program; preparing administrative budgets and bank reconciliation statements; extensive background in the student activities area; a proven record of coordinating on campus activities with the Student Government Association and other campus organizations designed to enhance the quality of campus life preferred.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Director of Student Life and EOP reports to the Director of Student Life & Educational Opportunity Program and performs the following duties:
- Assists in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures related to all aspects of student activities sponsored by the Student Government Association.
- Assist in the supervision and management of personnel working in the Student Activities Office and Student Housing Office.
- Assist in the coordination of the college’s commencement ceremony, student recognition award ceremonies, and the New Student Orientation Program.
- Assist in coordinating on-campus student leadership development activities.
- Assist in supervising the production/publication of the on-line student housing guide, student handbook, and the student club advisor’s procedural manual, all EOP brochures and publications.
- Assist in preparing the Student Activity Office department budget, Senate budget, EOP department budget, all year-end financial and expenditure reports.
- Assist faculty club advisors in coordinating activities, fundraisers, events, banquets, award dinners, conferences, etc.
- Assist in designing recruiting and retention strategies for EOP and develop community outreach programs that strengthen partnerships to enhance the college’s profile in the community and introduce the abundant educational opportunities offered at the college.
The Salary is $45,000.00-$50,000.00
