Gannett is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to assist the VP of FP&A in providing relevant, accurate, and timely financial analysis for the company. The Sr. Financial Analyst will help manage and oversee preparation of annual operating and capital plans, reforecasts and provide financial support for strategic operating initiatives. The position location noted as Mclean but open.
Develops and communicates highly complex and critical financial and business-related analysis (i.e. revenue stream reporting, product profitability, FTE budgets, flash, actual, segment, customer, rates, and product P&Ls)
Manages the design and development of ad hoc reports, weekly revenue and flash reports, regulatory reports and financial models. Participates in the budget and forecast process
Analyzes and reports on budget and year-over-year variances to determine key drivers impacting the Company’s performance, Interfaces with corporate, auditors, accounting and other departments to provide necessary information by deadline.
A minimum of 5-8 years' experience. Minimum of a bachelor's degree.
1. Excellent interpersonal, planning, communication, organizational, problem solving, analytical, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
2. Advanced knowledge of budgeting, accounting, modeling, graphing, systems, controls, and procedures. Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and controls.
3. Ability to analyze financial information.
4. Understanding of accounting applications as they relate to data processing systems.
5. Understanding of cost accounting applications.
6. Ability to communicate complex, dynamic financial and operational information clearly and succinctly to management.
7. Strong business acumen and sound judgment
8. Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and controls
PC skills, Microsoft Office suite, email, BPC/SAP/Hyperion or similar financial consolidation application experience.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $64,125 and $150,938.
Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be
applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union
representation, if applicable.
