The Promotions Marketing Sales Development & Lead Design Director is a critical role in the leadership of the Gannett/Ventures Promotions Division and will take a lead in developing sales strategies and marketing materials in collaboration with the sales teams to achieve brand volume, profit and share objectives, as well as Innovation and new product strategies. This will also include analysis of consumer, customer, and competitive trends to identify and develop brand and revenue growth opportunities.
Job Duties:
- Assist the Vice President of Promotions in development of promotions to support selling efforts and to drive revenue.
- Develop new promotion insights and consumer targeted promotions offerings via trend and competitive analyses; partnering with the promotions management team to prioritize and execute.
- Set the direction, and oversee the development, deployment and usage of promotions sales materials.
- Partnering with market leaders and promotions teams to execute consumer touch points.
- Develop compelling marketing and sales proposals incorporating promotion campaigns that target sales goals, support retailers and engage consumers.
- Work closely with sales leaders to ensure execution of promotional campaigns in the field and identify opportunities to grow business.
- Produce creative presentations for the sales teams to leverage with their clients and in order to help secure business.
- Create and publish marketing and sales materials in line with execution of promotions.
- Create customized promotions concepts and proposals that showcases product portfolio.
- Research which programs had a high success rate and develop and contribute to internal and external case study library. Create a variety of case studies across the top advertiser categories to assure needs are met.
- Work with sales staff on high-level, custom proposals to present to large clients who have the potential to run large campaigns across all platforms for multiple months resulting in steady monthly revenue.
- Work with sales associates to gain an understanding of what they want their proposals to look like. Create or incorporate illustrations, pictures, and designs to reflect the desired theme and tone of the promotion and the advertiser.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 7 years of Brand/Marketing experience; in media sales or related industry preferred
- Ability to prioritize and execute critical tasks in a complex and continually changing environment
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated strategic thinking skills and proven ability to balance short and long term objectives
- Collaborator with a demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with a focus on PowerPoint
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software
- Familiarity with social media and web analytics
- Ability to create visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate consumers.
- Proven graphic designing experience
