East Stroudsburg University is hiring an Admissions Communications Coordinator! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU's proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country's largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.

As the Admissions Communications Coordinator, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable analyzing a high volume of data. You will be an active member of the Office of Admissions team and will work closely with the Director of Admissions in implementing the University's recruitment and yield initiatives for prospective and admitted undergraduate students. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your communication and data analysis experience. To be successful in this role, the individual must have strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and be able to work independently.

The schedule for this role is 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. You may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Admissions Communications Coordinator. This position will require 5% travel. When our team shows up for work, they are energized and motivated to succeed - all while being the most crucial piece to keeping the ESU operations humming.

What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)

Email Campaign Management
  • Evaluate email workflows and recommend improvements for enhanced performance.
  • Collaborate across academic and student affairs departments to develop and execute email plans focused on increasing engagement.
  • Coordinate, create, and manage the email calendar for all departments and audiences.
  • Prepare and maintain the annual communication calendar/plan for freshmen, transfer, and graduate recruitment timelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Communication Strategy
  • Develop engaging content in various formats (web, emails, publications) for diverse constituencies, including prospective students, and parents.
  • Update queries for ongoing communications on an annual basis.
  • Craft engaging emails that speak to the needs and interests of both students and parents, following best practices for effective communication.
  • Create and edit graphics/photos for emails.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Collaboration and Coordination
  • Work closely with the marketing department to develop market campaigns, website refresh, outreach materials, and communication plans.
  • Collaborate with college departments to expand and maintain consistent communications with prospective students and applicants.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Operations and Director of Admissions on various communication responsibilities, including on and off-campus events.
  • Maintain and refresh third party platforms to make sure all elements represent ESU in the best light and have accurate and timely information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Project Collaboration
  • Provide Slate training and support, including events/trips/forms.
  • Create, run, and update campaigns in Deliver.
  • Manage event invites (create, run, edit) and create daily tour surveys.
  • Provide support to staff to update trips by territory and create/update forms for events and inquiries.
  • Collaborate with departments to boost departmental campaigns.
  • Send department messages and provide Chat Bot support.
  • Create and share snippets for efficient communication.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Reporting and Analysis
  • Review email metrics to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor the success of campaigns and make recommendations based on research findings.
  • Create email reports to track open, clicked, bounced rates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in college admissions or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience with yield enhancement or related strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Technical skills: Word (tables, reports, merging), Excel (formulas, pivot tables, graphs), and MS Teams.
  • Experience with Banner, Slate, or other Student Information Software/CRM tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated creativity in recruitment activities.
  • Commitment to discretion and confidentiality.
  • Preferred experience with HTML coding.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English; able to create clear verbal and written messages.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, learning, collaboration, and positivity.
  • Valid Drivers License
