Position Summary
This position will lead the implementation of workforce planning processes in alignment to Dallas College's business plan pertaining to its workforce in the short and long-term. The Senior Director, Workforce Planning will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer and will leverage strategic methodologies in its contributions to organizational performance. The Senior Director of Workforce Planning will work with the CHRO and stakeholders including technology partners, departmental groups, and budget/finance, to implement a strategic workforce planning process and ideology to align the workforce with the business plan and address current and future workforce issues.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College
- Experience leading or managing major change initiatives
- Ability to identify and address opportunities and challenges that arise as a result of Dallas College's current transition
- Demonstrative experience and understanding of predictive workforce models, including development, testing, and incorporating throughout functional areas
- Demonstrated experience in organization-wide strategic planning
- Ability to partner with various groups to implement a Strategic Workforce Planning process that identifies critical risks and monitors total workforce costs in relation to business projections
- Be a storyteller of data while connecting the role to the long-term vision and mission of the organization
- Ability to develop actionable metrics that provide insight into the current and future workforce, its productivity, and its business impact
- Provide consultation to recruiting and professional development, and other key stakeholders as they design enterprise-wide programs for Dallas College
- Support CHRO with other initiatives and projects as needed for the positive advancement of the workforce and organization

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resource Administration, or related field
- Master's degree is preferred
- 7-10 years+ in prior Human Resources experience preferred, including significant experience in the design and implementation of complex workforce planning programs
- Excellent proficiency with technical tools including Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated track record of taking initiative, working in a fast-paced environment and capable of handling multiple and changing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and consulting skills – ability to assess needs, collaborate and deliver practical solutions that drive results
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Creative thinker with an inquisitive disposition
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate the information that resonates with the different stakeholders and team members
- Strong team player and willingness to assist team members as needed
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is strongly preferred
- Current and valid Texas driver's license required for offsite travel.

Key Responsibilities
- Project and respond to organization-wide staffing needs
- Responsible for the overall process of linking workforce strategies to desired business outcomes
- Influence development of job classes, job families and career pathways
- Lead in the creation of workforce strategies for recruiting, retaining, developing, and managing employees
- Anticipate and manage risk, and create a company culture that captures best practices to create a company culture that is in line with the overall company mission and strategy
- Lead in the strategic development of succession planning effectiveness design and execution for the organization
- Develop workforce strategies informed by rigorous data & analysis, and by providing market intelligence to better understand the external and competitive labor market
- Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
