The purpose of this class is to perform senior level administrative and technical work in support of the College's server, storage, and operating system infrastructure.
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.
Associates degree required, degree in Information Technology preferred. Five (5) years of experience working with server operating systems and infrastructure. Knowledge of systems configuration and troubleshooting procedures. Certification in Microsoft, Linux or VMware preferred.

- Assist in the planning of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting infrastructure college wide.
- Provide design, installation, and maintenance of the CCBC enterprise systems.
- Carry out complex system interface projects to meet faculty, student, and administrative user needs
- Implement system security as established by senior management
- Schedule, supervise, train, and evaluate assigned staff, as required.
- Perform management responsibilities in the absence of senior management.
- Provide planning, implementation, and maintenance of Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, Domain Controller, Exchange, and other Microsoft infrastructure projects.
- Provide planning, implementation, and maintenance of Linux operating systems and interfaces to the Microsoft network infrastructure.
- Provide planning, implementation, and maintenance of Storage Area Network technologies.
- Provide planning, implementation, and maintenance of systems and network security as established by senior management.
- Provide planning, implementation, and maintenance of VMWare operating systems and interfaces to the Microsoft and Linux network infrastructure.
- Provide planning, implementation, and maintenance of the CCBC backup, recovery, and business continuity systems.
- Provide Tier III suport to the Support Center, including the Help Desk.
- Develop additions to the CCBC Knowledge Base.
