HR/Safety Coordinator
The Human Resources Department is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and energetic professional with high level communication skills to coordinate many of our day-to-day administrative processes related to employee health benefits, worker's compensation, and leave programs including FMLA and the Washington State Paid Family Leave Act.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a proven capability to comprehend and articulate a wide variety of HR processes, rules, regulations, and details. This individual will need to be highly flexible, able to change priorities daily and adapt in a fast paced work environment. Interested candidates should be invested in continual improvement and have an ability to review administrative processes, cut out waste, and create efficiencies. The HR/Safety Coordinator needs to have good communication skills, should enjoy employee relations, and have the patience and grace required to work with employees to solve complex problems during what may be stressful times in their life.
The successful candidate will be capable of holding managers and decision makers accountable to applicable laws, rules, regulations and the high ethical standards of a public service organization. This individual needs to understand the importance of employee safety and wellness and be committed to the health and well being of City of Bothell employees. COVID-19
During the COVID-19 emergency HR employees are telecommuting 4-5 days per week at least until January 1, 2021. The successful candidate will be provided with a lap top and other tools necessary to be able to work from home. It is expected that while in training this individual will need to be at our City Hall location with other HR staff periodically. The City has adopted a COVID-19 Exposure Control Plan that requires employee self-screening, masks, social distancing, and certain sanitation procedures, that all employees are required to follow while in a City office building or work location. After COVID-19 it is expected that HR staff will return to work at City Hall. Part-tme telecommuting options (1-2 days per week) may still be available at that time. The City also has a comprehensive alternative work schedule policy (9/80s, 4/10s, etc.) that many Human Resources Department staff utilize.
