Chief of Police
The Mayor and Council of Greensboro are currently accepting applications for a Chief of Police for the Greensboro Police Department. The Town is looking for someone who is results oriented, has a great attitude, works efficiently, shows a record of success, has a passion for public service and wants to work in a team environment. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and decision-making skills, will show fairness to all people, will be proficient in writing reports and handling paperwork. The candidate must be willing to work shift work, nights, weekends and holidays as needed. This position is open until filled. Minimum qualifications: Candidates should be Maryland Police Training Commission (MPCTC) certified; must be a US citizen; have a high school diploma and preferably a two-year degree in criminal justice; at least 10 years administrative and senior command experience in law enforcement; and must possess a valid Maryland driver’s license.
