Youth Support Partner (Part Time)
We are looking for someone age 18-26 who experienced services (mental health, social services, or court system) and is looking for an opportunity to support youth who are currently receiving services!
The Youth Support Partner (YSP) is a member of the team that has experienced the mental health, social services, or court system through their own lived experience, and supports youth who are currently receiving services. The YSP engages youth, gathers information from them about their strengths and challenges, prepares them for team meetings, and helps them connect with other youth and with natural and community supports. The YSP supports youth in finding and expressing their voice.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, energetic, and has the skills to connect with children and adolescents through their own life experiences, while maintaining appropriate boundaries. They must be able to effectively communicate and work with a team and have the ability to recognize and adjust services to cultural and ethnic differences.
This position is part time, 20 hours per week, and pays $11/hour. This position is funded by a 1-year grant and the position may continue after the completion of the grant.

Applicant Requirements:
1. Must be 18-26 years of age AND have personal lived experience with the mental health system, social services, or court service unit. Please include a cover letter with your application explaining your interest in the position.
2. Education: High school diploma
3. Good Driving Record: Candidates must have a valid Virginia driver's license with a safe driving record (no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no criminal violations in the last five years).
4. Background Check: Candidates who are offered a position are required to undergo a fingerprint background check.
The age limitation of 18-26 years of age is considered a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) for this position.
