Trauma Services Coordinator (Internal Only)
The Trauma Services Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the implementation of the STEP-VA requirements necessary to facilitate trauma-informed services available at BRBH to outpatient clients. This position will coordinate and manage the First Responder program, provide CIT trainings, as needed, coordinate and train the Critical Incident Response Team for external and internal debriefings. This position will coordinate and evaluate data to ensure BRBH STEP-VA and SMVF trauma training metrics are met across the agency.
Additional duties include:
- acting as the mental health expert for First Responder Peer Support teams in the area, as requested
- providing First Responder services and Negotiator Response Support during normal operating hours.
- acting a community liaison, trainer, clinical supervisor and provider of treatment services focused on addressing trauma.
- EMDR consultation and supervision to other therapists to grow the agency's ability to provide Evidence-Based Services.
- facilitating internal agency trainings on trauma-informed treatment modalities, as well as provide case consultation on counseling cases focused on treating trauma.
- providing supervision to the SMVF Therapist who would be providing trauma-informed treatment services to veterans and their family members, as well as additional OCS therapists who would be providers of mental health counseling services.
- training to other therapists on First Responder culture to grow therapists' skills in treating First Responders.
- face-to-face administrative and clinical supervision to counselors and support the Outpatient Counseling Services Director in designing, implementing, and monitoring program processes that support the agency's mission to provide quality community based services.
- helping to address program emergencies as they occur and to sign off on staff notes. This position will provide counseling to OCS clients if needed, as back up or fill caseload.
- helping with agency-appointed workgroups.
- being available to organize disaster response to internal and external crises (with DBHDS) as requested.
- facilitating working relationships through creating, coordinating and managing contracts/MOUs with First Responder programs to provide mental health and Critical Incident and Trauma-related services.
- assisting in performing additional supervisory tasks as needed.
The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm!
Minimum Requirements:
1. Education: Master's degree in a human services field that fulfills the criteria for eligibility for professional licensure as a professional counselor or clinical social worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
2. Experience: Minimum two (2) years clinical experience which includes attainment of licensure. Eligible to provide board approved clinical supervision for licensed-type individuals after 2 years licensure.
3. Licensure/Certifications: Licensed in the State of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist.
4. Safe Driving Record: This position requires transporting clients or driving an agency vehicle. Candidates must have a valid Virginia driver's license with a safe driving record (no more than two moving violations in the last three years AND no criminal violations in the last five years).
