Prevention Coordinator of Development & Evaluation

The Coordinator of Prevention Development and Evaluation oversees assessment and evaluation of Prevention and Wellness Services. They provide budgetary management, direct management of grant requirements and funding, and grant writing and submissions. They supervise staff that facilitate substance abuse prevention coalitions and evidence-based prevention programming. They manage needs assessments and evaluation, including the state data system, Youth Risk Behavior Survey, phone polls, coalition readiness assessments, DBHDS logic models, measurement plans, and data entry plan development.
Responsibilities:
- Providing a vision of the future to achieve strategic goals, objectives, and outcomes
- Utilizing a variety of best practices, evidence-based programs and other strategies, in collaboration with multiple community partners and coalition members, to develop and implement prevention plans to reduce substance abuse community-wide.
- Providing supervision of grants that fund areas of oversight to include staff support, planning, and budget preparation and monitoring.
- Providing data for community-based needs assessments and strategic plans
- Providing leadership on local, regional, and state board and councils
- Providing staff supervision and oversight of prevention programming to reduce youth substance abuse and promote mental health and wellness in the Roanoke Valley
- Leading a team that implements grant programming and implementing programming, as needed, to maintain grant compliance and positive outcomes.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Five years of experience in human service programs and in providing prevention services in school or community settings.
2. One year of experience in a supervisory role and overall supervision of staff quality and quantity of work
3. Bachelor's degree in a human services field. Masters preferred
4. Good Driving Record: This position requires being eligible to drive agency vehicles, so candidate's driving record must have no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no criminal violations in the last five years.
