Prevention and Wellness Services Division Director
BRBH is seeking a highly responsible and effective Director for our Prevention and Wellness Services Division. The Director leads a high-performing team that provides a wide range of evidence-based programming under multiple grants, focused on the prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs' use/abuse, suicide, violence, and other risk behaviors. The Director additionally serves on the Executive Management Team and demonstrates effective responsibility and accountability with peers and colleagues. The Division Director will work extensively with community partners and workgroups, as well as manage staff, programs and grants. This position requires a high level of professional discernment, confidentiality, and collaboration with internal and external partners.
The Director leads coordination of Prevention and Wellness programs that are impactful and show measurable effectiveness in the community, and responsibilities include:
- Planning and implementing programming
- Measuring and evaluating outcomes
- Management of grant funds, including effective oversight of complex regulations and requirements of funders
- Budget management to maximize resources and efficiency of services
- Public relations for Prevention & Wellness Division programs in coordination with the BRBH CEO
- Participation in state, regional, and community workgroups
- Planning and operations of multiple community coalitions
- Staying current with developments of evidence-based practices
- Effective management and supervision of staff.
Qualifications Required:
1. Education: Master's degree in human services, public health, education, urban studies or a related field.
2. Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in human service programming, demonstrating effective application of counseling or prevention programming with at-risk populations.
3. Supervisor Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a supervisory role of human services programs, including experience in performance evaluation, hiring, staff development, and overall supervision of quality and quantity of work.
4. Prevention Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a supervisory role of provision of prevention services in school and community settings.
5. Safe Driving Record: Safe driving record required (no more than two moving violations in the last three years, no criminal violations in the last five years).
6. Certification: Eligible for certification as a Certified Prevention Professional (CPP).
7. Preferred :Demonstrated experience in effectively managing budgets, state, federal and local grant funds, including effective oversight responsibilities for meeting complex regulations or requirements of funders or oversight agencies. Knowledge of Virginia regulatory and public behavioral health environment helpful.
