(Internal Only) Administrative Assistant Emergency Services
The Administrative Assistant manages the functions of the Emergency Services program, including answering phones (including the crisis line), triage phone calls, and communicate/collaborate with community professionals about clients in crisis. The Administrative Assistant enters client data and client services into the electronic record system that may include admission information and forms, and assists with gathering statistics for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports. They also assist with billing functions and collaborate with Reimbursement staff. The Administrative Assistant checks the bed registry to see where available beds are reported, contacts facilities about availability, and faxes requested information about potential admissions.
The schedule for this position is: on-call 5:00 pm - 3:00am Tuesday - Thursday, as needed. Other shifts may be available at times.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Education: High school diploma or GED
2. Experience: Minimum of one year experience with and interest in working interest in working with a diverse client population, including individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, or substance abuse issues who may be in crisis.
3. Background: Candidates who are offered a position are required to undergo a background check and drug screen.
Minimum required knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Advanced computer skills, keyboarding skills, data entry, and billing process including Medicaid, Medicare, 3rd party payers and fee setting.
- General knowledge of office and business practices.
- Skill in data collection techniques and assimilation for report generation.
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Effective oral & written communication skills.
- Routine problem-solving skills.
