Director, Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)

BRBH is seeking a Director for our Residential Treatment Program for Mental Health Crisis Stabilization and Substance Use Detox. The Director is responsible for clinical and administrative leadership of a 16-bed facility that provides 24/7 stabilization and withdrawal management services for people with mental health and/or substance use disorders.

The Program Director provides guidance to all aspects of client services at CSU and is in a position to mold the program to be one of the best in the state. This is a wonderful opportunity for a licensed (LPC or LCSW) clinician to advance and grow an exciting and impactful program.
The Director oversees an interdisciplinary team of 40 staff that includes Therapists, Clinicians, Kitchen team, Peer Support, Nurse Supervisor and Nursing and Assistant staff. The Director also works with Psychiatrists in person and through telemedicine. Responsibilities include:
- Directing day to day program operations, including supervising staff
- Managing program improvement and implementing work flow efficiencies
- Ensuring staffing plans meet program needs
- Ensuring quality, evidence-based practices are delivered
- Ensuring service and bed utilization goals are met
- Monitoring revenue and expenditures to meet fiscal goals
- Ensuring services are authorized, documented, and billed properly
- Marketing program to community and regional partners
- Developing positive relationships with other agencies
- Coordinating 24/7 availability for response to emergencies
- Ensuring client safety needs are met
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
Qualifications Required:
- License: This position requires an active, unrestricted licensure in Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience providing services to people with mental illness and/or substance use disorders is required.
- Supervisor Experience: At least 2 years of supervisory experience is required.
- Safe Driving Record: Safe driving record required (no more than two moving violations in the last three years, no criminal violations in the last five years).
