Warehouse/Maintenance Assistant
Automotive Lift Service is a rapidly growing company that specializes in the service and installation of automotive lifts and garage equipment. Our Warehouse/Maintenance Assistant will assist the Warehouse Manager and handle basic vehicle and building maintenance. Good physical endurance with ability to be “on the move” daily is imperative. Experience operating a forklift and light vehicle maintenance are very beneficial. This position works between two facilities that are in close proximity. Company transportation is available for transit between sites. A clean driving record is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of external premises including occasional seasonal tasks such as snow removal, yard maintenance, etc.
- Perform building maintenance and minor repairs (i.e. replace broken switches, fix door handles, minor leaks, painting, etc.). Report major damages to Warehouse Manager.
- General maintenance of company’s fleet vehicles i.e. oil changes, minor repairs, daily truck check over’s, etc.)
- Cleaning company’s fleet vehicles (i.e. washing interior/exterior, trash removal, organized and loaded with proper materials and supplies, etc.).
- Assist with daily loading and unloading of trucks using a forklift safely. (Training for handling our specific products will be provided as well as forklift operation certification.)
- Safely use forklift to load product onto customers’ trailers.
- Preparing and packaging small parts and accessory orders for FedEx/UPS shipping.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required.
- 1+ years' experience in a similar role; or
- Equivalent combination of education/training and related experience.
Required Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications:
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness of work.
- Very good physical condition and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to assess situations by thinking them through and solve problems by seeking solutions beyond the obvious.
- Basic mechanical skills including knowledge and ability to complete oil changes and minor vehicle maintenance.
- Handyman skills with ability to operate small power tools.
- Familiarity with simple landscaping.
- Knowledge of safe handling and disposal of chemical (cleaning) liquids helpful.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. (Must provide current DOT driving record.)
- Ability to drive and operate flatbed rollback trucks.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
Typical Day: This is a Monday-Friday position, with typical work hours from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, which includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and two 15-minutes paid breaks). On occasion, an earlier start time or finish time may be required to assist prepping service trucks for prompt dispatch. This position endures elements such as hot and cold days, and dirty and greasy environments. The Warehouse Manager will direct daily work assignments, schedule changes and guide special projects with potentially higher-level direction coming from other department managers.
