Sr. Director, SaaS Business Development
As an Advance Local Sr. Director, SaaS Business Development with NJ Advance Media, you'll engage with customers to provide an understanding of the product and the people who use it in order to drive revenue. You'll work closely with the engineering team to design, develop and implement in order to drive revenue, and leverage data platforms into clients' educational institution strategies to grow sustainable value for them. You'll develop relationships with third party resellers, and work closely with internal stakeholders to support the company's mission. As our business grows, you'll have the opportunity to build and manage a team of software sales personnel.
What you'll be doing:
- Proactively identify new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, marketing, referrals, and lead databases to meet and exceed established revenue goals
- Develop and present strategies for growing the business, including but not limited to pricing models, partnership deals, product development, staffing plans, and customer service
- Conduct multiple product demos per week with new prospects and in support of resellers
- Collaborate with existing media sales reps to identify prospects and build and upsell pipeline
- Gather customer and prospect feedback to identify opportunities to enhance product development and differentiation in th market, as well as meet evolving customer needs
- Provide insights and develop recommendations to support customer success
- Deliver high-level customer service and training for clients to maximize the value of the software
- Manage and work with client onboarding team to ensure seamless integration and successful launch
- Identify, develop, and contract third party reseller relationships to accelerate software sales
- Retain and up-sell existing accounts
- Develop KPI's for software sales team and manage accountability as the business grows
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum ten years SaaS product sales experience, preferably in the education software space
- Technical understanding of interactive data platforms to support data integrations and technical requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of needs-based selling
- Proven success of increasing sales in a competitive marketplace
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information into understandable terminology
- Assertive, goal-oriented, and self-motivated
- Ability to multi-task, handle pressure and work under deadlines
- Proficient in MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proficient in managing business and pipeline in SalesForce
